About Sequence-Alignment.com
Sequence-alignment.com is a web site about DNA sequence alignment, created by scientists for students and scientists who are starting to use sequence alignments in their research. This site is intended as a starting point that contains a pragmatic collection of links with brief descriptions, as well as short explanations of relevant terms. We aim to fill a gap between web sites that are dedicated to single tools for sequence alignment, and link collections that contain dozens or hundreds of links and often overwhelm students and researchers new to the field.
Given the vast number of programs, algorithms, and web resources for sequence alignment, we are not trying to present a complete coverage of the field. Instead, we present a subset of tools that hopefully will enable students to accomplish their learning objectives or research tasks without too much confusion.
